PADI Scuba Diver Certification at the Downtown Aquarium

Short on time and long on the urge to become a certified diver? Then our PADI Scuba Diver certification might just be for you. This course requires less time and leaves you nearly 90% of the way toward the

PADI Open Water Diver certification.  That's because you'll have already completed all of the classroom sessions, all of the pool dives and you'll complete the vast majority of the Open Water skills during your two dives in the Aquarium.  AND, you'll complete them in "one of the most incredible diving environments in the country!" 

This certification allows for ample dive experience and will have you prepared for the Open Water Diver course --- if that's your ultimate goal.

 

PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:

• Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor to a maximum depth of 40 feet
• Obtain air fills, rent or purchase diving equipment and participate in other diving activities as long as they have the required supervision
• Continue their dive training and complete a PADI Open Water Diver certification and other courses

Prerequisites

Prior to participating in the open water dives, you must:

• Have completed PADI Modules 1-3, Confined Water dives 1-3 and Completed the Confined water 10-Minute tread
  Note:  Those taking their course at A-1 will have completed all five PADI Modules, all five Confined Water dives and both Swimming Assessments (10-Minute float & distance swim)
• Those who completed their classroom and pool training elsewhere will need to bring:
  • Current PADI Referral Letter (no older than 12 months)
  • Copy of your signed PADI Medical Statement (PDF)
• You will also need to complete the following forms
  • Liability Release and Assumption of Risk Agreement (PDF)
  • Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding (PDF)
  • Youth Diving Responsibility and Risks Acknowledgment (PDF)
    for children under the age of 12.
  • Aquarium Scuba Diving Waiver (PDF) Please bring a copy of this form with you
  • PADI Scuba Diver Statement (PDF) Please bring a copy of this form with you

• Entry to the diving area
• Two training dives
